Program Notes

Kandinsky Imaginations was commissioned for the 5th season of the Zodiac Music Academy and Festival in Côte-d’Azur, Valdeblore France. The piece is inspired by three paintings by painter Wassily Kandinsky: composition vi, white line, and composition viii.
For most artists, ideas start with a burst of energy; whether slow or fast, each movement begins with a great amount of force and excitement. After one piece of art is completed, the completed art becomes a key to the next project. Like Kandinsky’s paintings, the movements become more abstract with color, texture, and technique.
